The Lions have not wasted any time making moves to make up for the loss of Jimmy Rolder to a season ending hamstring injury. The Lions have signed linebacker KJ Britt to their active roster from the New England Patriots practice squad. The 27 year old linebacker was drafted in the 5th round of the 2021 NFL draft.
Britt joins the Lions active roster with a decent amount of NFL experience under his belt. Since entering the league he has played in 77 games, notching 81 solo tackles, and 81 assisted tackles, half a sack, and three passes defended. He spent the first four years of his career with the team that drafted him, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also spent a year with Miami before landing on New England’s practice squad. His most productive year was 2024 where he logged 72 tackles, 40 of which were solo.
