NFL Draft - BigDahm Picks - Round Three
Information sourced from: DLP Consensus Big Board, NFL Mock Draft DB, RAS, ESPN
In the first two rounds of my mock draft series the Lions picked up Max Iheanachor, offensive tackle out of Arizona State, and Derrick Moore, edge/defensive end out of Michigan. Trading back was a key, picking up a 3rd round pick in the trade back for Max Iheanachor. So, we have officially left reality for a moment and are now in a world where the Lions have a 3rd round pick. Let’s dig in and figure out who the Lions will pick up next!
With the Lions (newly acquired) 3rd Round Pick, I Select Bud Clark, Safety TCU.
I have to admit that I was first put on the trail of Bud Clark by Jeff Risdon, and I certainly see why he is high on him. Take his 2025 season, thirty one solo tackles, four interceptions, seven passes deflected, and a defensive touchdown. Looking beyond his 2025 season, he continues to rack up the picks with three in 2024, three in 2023, 5 in 2022, and another defensive touchdown. It certainly seems like he has the traits of a ball hawk.
Another strong feature of Bud’s game is his run support. Using his 4.41 40 yard speed to quickly change gears and come down hill to tackle a ball carrier.
His athletics are no problem, with his speed and explosion leading the way.
Three rounds, and three holes in the roster filled. Many people may argue that spending a 3rd round pick on someone to fill in while Brian Branch and Kirby Joseph work through their medical issues is reckless. However, I disagree. I feel like he will slot in just fine to fill in starter duty, and will eventually be a bonafide starter himself. Given we don’t know what Kirby’s or Branch’s medical futures hold, adding this quality up and coming safety is a good move now and in the future.

Your guesses will be as good as all the other 8,753 mock drafts that grow like weeds as the draft nears. By now, I figured the Lions would be drafting to replace aging veterans...not still trying to plug emerging holes.
