Time to wrap up the offensive positions with Center. Center was rated by fans in a recent poll I took as the number one need on the Detroit Lions. With the murmurings around the NFL and recent cuts (See Washington Commanders) it seems as though the Lions may add a Center in free agency. Either way lets dig in again and take a peek at who is under contract for 2026.
Graham Glasgow
33 years old - Under contract through 2026 - 8.4 million dollar cap hit in 2026
With the semi-unexpected retirement of Frank Ragnow, a lot of questions were left on the Lions offensive line. I think adding Tate Ratledge and Miles Frazier were steps, but as we all saw play out throughout the year, it was not quite enough. A number of writers have stated that they thought the issue was guard play rather than center play. I’ll admit that they may have something there, but the Center does have an impact on both guards as well. While I feel Graham gave it his all, I think that he just didn’t have the same spark we needed. I unfortunately could see him becoming a cap casualty this year or be asked to take a pay cut. It’s a sad way for a player who has given a lot to the Lions to go.
Graham Glasgow was hot and cold, but fought hard in 2025:
He logged no false starts, 1 holding call, a pass block pff grade of 61.3 (26th) and a run block pff grade of 54.3 (36th).
Trystan Colon
26 years old - Free Agent in 2026
Trystan Colon was one of my favorite Free Agent signings in 2025. I, as well a number of Lions fans, love that we have made the offensive line our strength, that is until 2025. I thought Trystan would slot in and be in a great position to back up our Center, and had the flexibility to play guard. He had plenty of starts at center. While his play may not have been terrible, it certainly wasn’t good either. I don’t know if the Lions will re-sign him this year, but I would want just a little more.
Trystan Colon was… not great in 2025:
He logged no false starts, no holding calls, a pass block pff grade of 34.4 and a run block pff grade of 51.1.
Seth McLaughlin
25 years old - Under contract through 2026 - $885k cap hit
There’s not much to add, as there aren’t any stats for Seth McLaughlin last year. He didn’t log a snap. I see this as a young guy with a potential upside. I didn’t even find any athletic testing numbers, only that he was 6’4” 304lbs coming out of college.
Moving Forward
I expect the center position to look completely different next year. I could see Colon re-joining for a camp battle potentially, but I think the Lions may well add a center both in free agency, and in the draft with a prospect who can play guard and center. Perhaps given the slim pickings at center Graham will be brought back with an abbreviated contract and act as the backup. Who knows, there’s a whole lot of offseason to come.
