With Pick 17 in the 2026 NFL Draft the Detroit Lions Select Blake Miller, OT, Clemson
The Lions continue to beef up the offensive line!
With Pick 17 in the 2026 NFL Draft the Detroit Lions have selected Blake Miller, Offensive Tackle, Clemson.
Blake Miller is an elite athlete, and an immediate upgrade over Larry Borom at right tackle. Miller was one of my lower tackles from the first tier, given concerns about his overall strength and ability to hold up to the larger defensive ends in the league (However, his bench at the combine does suggest otherwise). I still wouldn’t consider, at least to start, placing him anywhere but right tackle. Let Penei cover Goff’s blindside while Miller handles the rest and matures.
Don’t get me wrong, there is no reason he should not be a top tier offensive tackle for years to come. Jeff Risdon of Lions Wire mentioned him many times in recent podcasts as his pick for the Lions at 17, and I can’t say I blame him. His agility should make him a stud in the run game, and help Gibbs be even more productive.
Silver and Blues contributor MCBC’s initial reaction is “[If he] cleans up his technique issues [he] should be solid
Stay tuned for more analysis on this pick, and as always, Let’s go Lions!

Lots of positive feedback on this pick so far from what I have seen. Lets see what the fall says 😀
Ho-hum, another rebuilding year. Forgive me as I have watched this team since the mid 1960s. I can't get no satis-traction for the upcoming season. I was expecting to be in striking distance of a SB appearance, not retrenching. It could happen I suppose, but would be the miracle of the century.
